For Bare Feet, LLC, branded and marketed as FBF Originals, a leading manufacturer, distributor and retailer of licensed and novelty socks, will open its doors to the public for its annual open house on Tuesday, July 16 from 5-7 p.m. Guided tours of the building will be offered, and guests will also be invited to shop inside a brand new For Bare Feet Shop retail store located inside the building located at 1201 S. Ohio Street in Martinsville.
Local businesses and non-profits are also invited each year to this City of Martinsville signature community outreach event to staff information tables about their products and services. Space is limited. If interested contact FBF at email@example.com.
Local fire, police and other safety personnel will be on-site with their vehicles for Touch-A-Truck activities offering opportunities for the public to enjoy up-close views and for children to sit in the driver’s seat. There will also be stations for children such as face painting and other activities.
The event’s walking tour of the FBF Factory will include an entertaining education into the intricacies of sock manufacturing including the anatomy of a sock, fun sock trivia and history, and a glimpse into one of Indiana’s most entrepreneurial and heartwarming business success stories. Showcased among hundreds of designs in the new factory retail store will be popular new officially licensed sports team socks, socks featuring popular brands such as Hershey’s chocolate and American denim jeans icon Wrangler, scented socks and a preview of the new FBF “Bug Off” brand that offers insect repellant protection. Consumers will receive a 40 percent in-store discount on all purchases during the open house.

FBF Originals is the longest-tenured sock licensee of the National Football League, and is also licensed with hundreds of colleges, the National Hockey League, NASCAR, and Fortune 500 companies and other businesses such as chocolate manufacturer Hershey, Wrangler, and Mossy Oak, among others. From 1997-2016 FBF Originals produced the official on-court sock of the National Basketball Association. The company also offers its products for purchase online at www.forbarefeetshops.com. The company was founded in 1984 with a retail shop named For Bare Feet in Nashville, Indiana, then a manufacturing factory established in nearby Helmsburg. An accidental fire in 2011 destroyed the production facility which led to the company relocating to Martinsville. Its staff is comprised of 110 full-time and part-time factory and front office employees.
